If you include non-exclusive content in your songs, you cannot distribute them to DSPs with Fingerprint. Non-exclusive content refers to elements anyone can obtain, whether by purchasing or accessing them for free.
If you use external elements in your songs, such as samples, artificial intelligence, or software-generated audio, you must ensure that the resulting content has a commercial and exclusive license.
The following types of content cannot be distributed to DSPs with Fingerprint:
Karaoke recording.
Remasters or sound-alike recordings.
Songs incorporating beats, loops, or samples that are available for free within music apps or audio workstations such as Garage Band, Ableton, Fruity Loops, or Logic.
Songs using leased or purchased beats without exclusive ownership rights.
Songs with audio elements or samples lacking exclusive licenses.
Songs incorporating audio elements from the Public Domain or those with open licenses such as Creative Commons.
The Fingerprint DSPs are YouTube Content ID, Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, and Soundcloud Content ID.
Our YouTube contract is at risk if we upload non-exclusive content. Unfortunately, we often only discover this issue when YouTube notifies us, leaving little time for corrective action.
