Spotify has launched a beta version of the Artist Protection Program (APP), a new feature available in Spotify for Artists that lets you approve releases before they appear on your artist profile. This is especially useful for preventing unauthorized releases, metadata errors, or content you don't want associated with your name from showing up on your profile automatically.
How to activate this feature
Log in to your Spotify for Artists account
Find the Artist Profile Protection option in your settings
Enable the feature
How does it work?
Once you activate the feature in Spotify for Artists, you'll receive a notification every time a release listing you as an artist is delivered to Spotify.
You'll also have access to two new tools:
Approvals Tab - Here you can review, approve, or decline any release that arrives on Spotify with your name as an artist. You'll also see a history of all previously pre-approved releases.
Artist Key - Spotify will assign you a unique key that you'll soon be able to share with us so we can include it in the delivery metadata of your releases, allowing them to be approved automatically without any manual action on your part.
